Psychophysiological Assessments
Psychophysiological assessments measure bodily responses associated with psychological states. These assessments involve the use of physiological measures like galvanic skin response (GSR), heart rate, blood pressure, respiration rate and facial electromyography (EMG). By monitoring these physical responses, it is possible to gain insights into an individual’s mental state such as emotions, motivation, and stress levels. Psychophysiological assessments are often used in clinical practice, to provide objective data of an individual’s psychological and physiological functioning. They are also used in research, to gain a better understanding of how emotions, stressors, and environment affect behavior and performance.
