Brain Imaging
Brain imaging is a technique used to observe the internal structure and functions of the brain. It allows researchers to see inside the brain and better understand its complex workings. Through brain imaging studies, researchers are able to identify which areas of the brain are activated during a particular task, to understand which areas of the brain are associated with different emotions, and to trace the patterns of electric activity when an individual performs a mental task. Brain imaging can also be used to diagnose and monitor the progression of diseases and disorders such as Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, and Parkinson’s, and to understand how these conditions may affect the brain. Brain imaging has been invaluable in advancing our understanding of the human brain and is a major tool in furthering our knowledge of the brain.
