Mental Health Stigma
Mental health stigma is the negative view that society has towards people with mental illnesses. It can involve prejudicial attitudes, behaviours and assumptions that lead to discriminating against a person based on their mental health status. Such stigma can have a profound impact on an individual's quality of life, including reduced access to health care, education, and employment. Improving understanding of mental health stigma and developing strategies to reduce or eliminate it are important steps towards a more inclusive society.
