Dissociative Disorders
Dissociative disorders are mental health conditions characterized by disruptions or breakdowns of memory, consciousness, identity and/or perception. People with dissociative disorders may disconnect from reality and experience a wide range of symptoms, including memory loss, changes in self-identity, depersonalization, and unresponsiveness to their environment. These disorders can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life and can interfere with their ability to meet daily life demands. Treatment of dissociative disorders can involve psychotherapy, medications, and lifestyle changes to reduce symptoms and improve functioning.
