Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy developed to help individuals manage and improve their overall emotional regulation. It is used to help individuals cope with stressful or difficult situations in their daily lives. DBT combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness-based strategies to help individuals recognize and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to achieve their goals. DBT has proven to be an effective treatment for a range of issues, including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and eating disorders. It has also been used to treat individuals with personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder. DBT is an important tool for mental health professionals, as it can help individuals manage difficult emotions, tolerate distress, and regulate their behavior.
