Targeted Proteomics

Targeted Proteomics is a research field that combines bioinformatics, mass spectrometry, and protein chemistry to identify, quantify, and monitor the functions of specific proteins in biological samples. This technology is significant because it allows researchers to quickly and accurately analyze the abundance and characteristics of specific proteins, providing them with insights into their biological and functional roles. Targeted Proteomics has a wide range of applications including diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases, drug development and toxicity testing, and biomarker discovery. It has also revolutionized the study of biology by providing an unprecedented level of detail on the composition of cell and tissue samples.
