Proteogenomics
Proteogenomics is an interdisciplinary field of research that combines genomics and proteomics to better understand gene function and regulation. It helps to identify and analyze the proteins encoded by genomic data, which is essential for understanding complex biological processes. Proteogenomics is also used to identify new protein-coding genes, discover post-transcriptional modifications, and to better characterize the structure and function of proteins. Proteogenomic studies have aided in the discovery and validation of numerous disease-causing genes and markers of disease severity, and in the development of drug targets and treatments. The field has great potential for further advances in the fields of genomics, proteomics, and drug discovery.
