Protein Modifications
Protein modifications are post-translational changes that occur when molecules, enzymes or other proteins bind to an amino acid within the protein sequence. They play an important role in controlling the activity, stability and structure of the proteins. Protein modifications are involved in various biological processes, including signal transduction, transcription, metabolism and cell differentiation. Furthermore, they are used in the analysis and diagnosis of diseases, as well as a method to develop treatments and therapies.
