Phytohormones
Phytohormones are plant hormones that regulate plant growth, development and stress responses. They play a major role in the regulation of seed germination, flowering, leaf senescence and other processes, including phototropism, apical dominance and root growth. By manipulating phytohormone levels, farmers and gardeners can increase crop yields and improve disease resistance. Additionally, phytohormones are being studied for potential use in the treatment of human diseases.
