Physiology Physiogenomics
Physiogenomics is the study of how genes interact with physiological processes within the body, so that we can understand how various diseases, chronic illnesses and other conditions develop and can be treated. It is a relatively new and rapidly advancing field that combines aspects of physiology, genetics and genomics, with the aim to provide a better understanding of disease progression, mechanisms of treatment and how individual factors affect health outcomes. Through physiogenomics, we gain a unique insight into how genetic variation, environmental factors and lifestyle choices influence our physiology—allowing us to use this knowledge to develop more effective treatments and personalized healthcare plans. This has implications for the diagnosis and management of complex medical conditions, as well as the potential to identify and mitigate health risks before they manifest.
