Itraq Proteomics
iTRAQ (Isobaric Tag for Relative and Absolute Quantification) is a proteomic technique used to detect, quantify, and compare proteins in different samples. It has become a popular tool for experimental design, biomarker discovery, and quantification of protein expression in a variety of biological systems. iTRAQ is based on the use of isobaric tags that are chemically attached to proteins to distinguish different proteins in the sample. The isobaric tags are stable and can be quantified easily to measure the relative abundance of proteins in different samples. iTRAQ is a powerful technology that can be used to identify and quantify differences in protein expression in various conditions, allowing researchers to answer complex biological questions. It is also useful for the investigation of disease-related pathways, protein-protein interactions, and for the identification of potential biomarkers.
