HPV-18

Human Papillomavirus type 18 (HPV-18) is commonly associated with cervical cancer. It is one of the most prevalent human viruses and is usually contracted through sexual contact. HPV-18 is one of the types of HPV that can cause genital warts, which can lead to a variety of cancers, particularly cervical cancer, which is the most common cancer affecting women. It is also linked to other cancers such as vulvar, anal, and penile cancer. Vaccinating against HPV-18 is important to protect against the development of these cancers. HPV-18 can be diagnosed through a Pap smear and can be prevented from progressing through regular screening and treatment. Vaccination is the most important tool for preventing HPV-18 and its associated cancers.
