Biostatistics

Biostatistics is a branch of statistics that focuses on the collection, analysis and interpretation of biological data in order to answer questions related to the health and life sciences. It is a critical tool for understanding and improving both public health and the clinical care of individual patients. Biostatistics is used to analyze epidemiological data, develop and assess new treatments, study the genetic basis of disease, measure the effectiveness of prevention programs, and evaluate community health initiatives. Biostatistical methods are essential for helping us to understand and manage the complexities of the human body. Additionally, its importance extends to the public health arena, where it contributes to reduction of disease, disability and premature death.
