Prosimians

Prosimians are a group of primates that include tarsiers, lemurs, lorises, and pottos. They are distinguished from other primates by their small body size, stature, and different cranial features. Prosimians are the most primitive primates and they were the first to appear on the evolutionary tree. They have a large diameter of eyes, lack a postorbital bar, and have a grooming claw. They are found in tropical forests in Africa and Asia, but some species also inhabit grasslands or savannas. Prosimians have many unique features that make them particularly valuable for studying primate evolution and behavior. They can provide insights into the early evolution of primate species. Additionally, their unique physical features, behavior, and ecology provide researchers with a valuable and diverse source of information. Prosimians can also be used to study the effects of human activity on primate species, as well as how to conserve them.
