Propithecus
Propithecus is a genus of lemurs, and the only living primates endemic to Madagascar. They are the largest living members of the family Indriidae, and are sometimes referred to as indriids. Propithecus species are arboreal and diurnal, meaning they live in the trees and are active during the day. They feed mainly on leaves, but are also known to eat fruit, flowers, and seeds. These primates have long limbs and prehensile tails, making them adept climbers and jumpers. Propithecus species are notable for their loud and rhythmic call, which is used to communicate between different groups of lemurs in the forest. This call serves an important role in the propagation and conservation of Propithecus species and their habitats.
