Primate Bocaparvovirus

Primate Bocaparvovirus (BPV) is a genus of small, single-stranded DNA viruses that is closely related to adenoviruses and other parvoviruses. BPV is of significant interest to researchers due to its potential to cause a range of diseases in humans and non-human primates, including respiratory, gastrointestinal and neurological disorders. BPV is also associated with numerous diseases in other animals, including swine, fowl and cattle. BPV is increasingly being studied as a potential therapeutic agent, as it has been found to be effective in treating some cancers and other illnesses. BPV can also be used to deliver therapeutic genes to target cells and tissues, making it a promising tool for regenerative medicine. In addition, BPV is also being studied for its potential application as a vaccine vector for the sustained expression of antigens that could be used to prevent viral infections.
