Parietal Cortex

The parietal cortex is an area of the brain located at the top of the head near the back and sides of the brain. It is important for processing sensory information such as touch, temperature, and pain, as well as for motor control. It plays a role in orienting our body in space, utilizing visual and auditory cues, and integrating information from other areas of the brain. The parietal cortex is also implicated in language and memory functions, as well as decision-making. Additionally, it has been linked to attention processing and higher cognitive functions such as planning and problem solving. Therefore, the parietal cortex is essential for integrating information from different senses and areas of the brain, allowing complex behaviors to occur.
