Old World Monkeys
Old World monkeys are a type of primate found in Africa and Asia, and a subfamily of the family Cercopithecidae. They are characterized by large brains and prolonged growth periods, allowing them to better adapt to their environment. Old World monkeys are also known for their distinctive “grasping” hands with nails instead of claws, which helps them to climb trees and forage for food. They are important for the overall health of their ecosystems, as they help disperse seeds and keep insect populations under control. Old World monkeys are also popular in zoos and research facilities, where they provide valuable insights into primate behavior and evolution.
