Neotropical Primates
Neotropical primates are a class of primates comprising of monkeys, tarsiers, and lemurs that are native to the tropical regions of Central and South America, as well as some parts of Mexico and the Caribbean. These primates are important to the study of evolutionary biology, as their behavior and traits can help to inform how human evolutionary processes developed. They are also beneficial to the environment, providing essential services to species in the ecosystem such as seed dispersal and pollination. In addition, Neotropical primates also offer significant economic benefits to local communities, as their conservation can boost tourism and provide other forms of income for local people.
