Lemurs
Lemurs are primates known for their distinctive large eyes and long tail. They are endemic to the island of Madagascar and are considered one of the most threatened groups of mammals in the world. Lemurs can provide a unique look into the evolution of primates, help scientists understand more about the relationship humans have with the natural environment, and help preserve the natural environment of their native Madagascar. They are also popular in zoos and sanctuary settings due to their inquisitive and playful nature.
