Hylobatidae
Hylobatidae is a family of primates commonly known as gibbons. These small primates are found throughout Southeast Asia and are famous for their energetic, acrobatic behavior and distinctive loud sounds. Gibbons are highly threatened due to habitat loss, making them some of the most endangered primates in the world. They also play an important role in the health of the tropical forest ecosystems in which they live, as they disperse seeds and help to maintain balance in their habitats. Gibbons are widely studied by many researchers, who observe their behavior and ecology in order to gain greater insight into their conservation and protection.
