Hominids

Hominids are any species related to modern humans, including extinct species closely related to modern humans, like Neanderthals and Denisovans. Hominids are important in the study of human evolution, since they provide evidence of the ancestors of modern humans. They also offer valuable insight into the genetic and cultural changes between ancestral and modern human populations. Hominids have been used to inform research in a variety of fields, including evolutionary biology, paleoanthropology, archaeology, and physical anthropology.
