DIMORPHISM

Dimorphism is the term used to describe when species exhibit two distinct physical forms, such as male and female. It is an important aspect in the study of evolutionary biology, as it exposes the remarkable adaptability within the animal kingdom. Dimorphism is also used to measure the size and shape of different organisms, for example, with birds it is used to distinguish between juvenile and adult species. Additionally, in some animals, it can be used to reveal asymmetrical patterns that are unique to certain individuals, which can be used to track them. Dimorphism is a fascinating phenomenon and can help us better understand the nuances of the animal kingdom.
