Bonobos

Bonobos are one of the two species of great ape that are native to Central and Eastern Africa. They are closely related to chimpanzees and are humanity's closest living relatives. Bonobos are recognized as an endangered species, with their population falling drastically due to hunting and habitat loss. Bonobos are also known for their peaceful, cooperative behavior and lack of aggression, traits that make them a valuable model for understanding human nature and behavior. Additionally, research into the behavior and biology of bonobos provides insight into the evolution of our own species, and can inform conservation efforts.
