Global Agriculture
Global agriculture is the cultivation of crops and livestock on a global scale. It is the driving force of our food systems, providing the majority of the world's food supply. Its significance lies in the fact that it ensures adequate nutrition, health and well-being for everyone, while helping to mitigate climate change and maintain global ecosystems. Some of its uses include providing food, feed, fuel, fiber and other products that are essential for our lives and livelihoods; conserving water resources; providing employment and income; and mitigating climate change. Global agriculture is thus key to the sustainability of our planet.
