Biological Engineering
Biological engineering is the application of engineering principles and techniques to living systems, allowing for the design, production and control of biological systems. It has a major role to play in areas of healthcare, agriculture and food production, as well as bioprocessing, biomaterials and renewable energy. By understanding the fundamentals of how organisms interact with their environment, biological engineering can help to create solutions to challenges that affect our health, environment and economy. Examples of this include producing new and improved crop varieties, developing treatments for diseases, producing clean energy and creating materials that are more sustainable and biodegradable.
