Agricultural Engineering

Agricultural engineering is a multidisciplinary field that uses scientific knowledge, engineering principles and technology to make farming systems more efficient and sustainable. It deals with the design, construction, maintenance and improvement of agricultural land, buildings and equipment; the use of biotechnology and mechanization in agriculture; and the management of insects, weeds and other pests. Agricultural engineering has important implications for the environment, global food security and the economic development of rural communities. It can also help reduce water and energy use, and improve soil fertility and water quality. Agricultural engineering is essential for efficient food production, sustainable agriculture and a healthy natural environment.
