Taq Polymerase
Taq polymerase is a thermostable enzyme produced by the bacteria Thermus aquaticus. It is commonly used in scientific laboratories to amplify a segment of DNA in a process called Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Taq polymerase allows for the quick and efficient replication of any desired segment of DNA, making it a crucial tool in the field of molecular biology. In addition to its use in basic scientific research, this enzyme is also invaluable in fields such as forensic science and medicine, where it is used to identify and diagnose genetic diseases.
