Porous Materials
Porous materials are materials that contain a network of interconnected pores. They are used in a wide range of applications, from purifying water to providing insulation in construction. Porous materials have an increased surface area, enabling them to act as catalysts for chemical reactions, as well as for faster diffusion of gases and liquids. They are also widely employed in filtration systems to trap and remove contaminants, as well as in adsorption systems that can remove volatile and other gases. Porous materials also offer valuable benefits in terms of energy efficiency, since they can store and release heat and cold more efficiently than solid materials. They can also be used to control air flow, making them ideal for air conditioning and ventilation systems.
