Macromolecules

Macromolecules are very large molecules made up of hundreds or even thousands of smaller chemical subunits. These molecules have a key role in the structure and function of life. They form the basis of all biological processes and provide the building blocks for life such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, and lipids. Macromolecules are essential for a variety of functions in the body, including signal transduction, metabolic pathways, cell structure, and gene expression. They are also key components of many drug therapies, food products, and medical devices. Understanding how macromolecules work and interact is essential for developing new treatments and therapies for a range of diseases.
