Plant Transcriptomics
Plant transcriptomics is a field of study that investigates the expression of genes in plants. It involves a variety of techniques to quantify and study the abundance of messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules in plants at different stages of development, in response to environmental conditions and in response to genetic manipulation. Transcriptomics advances our understanding of gene regulation, metabolism, and adaptation in plants. The findings of transcriptomics can inform the development of new agriculture practices and technologies, contribute to the genetic improvement of crop varieties, and further our knowledge of plant biology.
