Plant Metabolomics
Metabolomics is a branch of plant science that studies the metabolic processes that occur within plants. The aim of metabolomics is to comprehend how metabolic pathways interact with each other, how they respond to environmental changes and how they can be used for the benefit of plants. Plant metabolomics enables a better understanding of the interactions between metabolism, growth, and stress, and how the metabolites can be used for crop improvement and for the development of biotechnological applications. It is also used to detect diseases in plants, understand environmental effects on plants, identify nutritional deficiencies, and optimize agronomic practices. In addition, metabolomics can also provide insights into plant evolution and molecular biology.
