Crop Stress Physiology
Crop stress physiology is a scientific field focused on understanding the mechanisms of how crops respond to, and cope with, unfavorable environmental conditions. This involves studying the physiology of plant stress response, including the biochemical and physiological processes and the interactive relationship between the plant and the environment. By understanding the physiology of crop stress, farmers are able to identify the underlying causes of crop failure, develop strategies to reduce the effects of environmental stress, and increase crop yields. As environmental stress increasingly becomes a major limiting factor in agriculture due to climate change, crop stress physiology has become an essential field of research for ensuring food security.
