Totipotency

Totipotency is a cellular property that refers to the ability of a single cell to give rise to an entire organism. As a result, these cells are capable of self-renewal, where they can divide and reproduce into new cells. This property is common to embryonic cells, which makes them a valuable resource in medical research and regenerative medicine. The use of totipotent cells to regenerate organs, tissues and body parts has the potential to revolutionize the health care industry. Furthermore, totipotent cells are used to study the early stages of human development and better understand genetic diseases.
