Plant Phylogenetics
Plant phylogenetics is the study of the evolutionary relationships between different species of plants. It is used to trace the evolution and classification of plants, as well as to understand their genetics and geographical distributions. This research area also has important implications for conservation efforts and agricultural production. Phylogenetic studies provide a basis for the development of genetic databases and tools that can help plant breeders and conservationists to select the most suitable crop varieties and to prioritize the conservation of rare and endangered species.
