Plant Ovary
The ovary of a flowering plant is a key female reproductive organ. It contains the plant’s female reproductive cells, the ovules, which develop into the seeds following fertilization. The ovary walls often provide a strong protective layer for the developing seeds and form the fruits of many plants. Fruits provide a nutritious source of food for animals and humans, enabling the plant's reproductive success. The ovary is therefore a significant and crucial part of the plant’s reproductive biology, ensuring its reproductive potential.
