Plant Cotyledon
Cotyledons are the first leaves of an embryo plant. They are typically found on the first seedling that emerges from a seed, and are critical for the growth and development of the plant. Cotyledons are important components of photosynthesis, absorbing light and converting it into energy for the plant. Furthermore, they are the first plant parts to appear after germination and contain stored nutrients that the plant needs to survive. Therefore, cotyledons are essential for a successful germination and are essential for the survival of any newly-formed seedling.
