Plant Cell Wall
The plant cell wall is a rigid, protective layer located outside the plant cell membrane. It is composed of a diverse range of polysaccharides, proteins, and other molecules, which provide strength and protection to the cell. The cell wall also helps regulate its shape and allows for the exchange of ions and solutes. The cell wall is essential for the growth and development of a plant, as it provides a structural foundation for the cell, helps regulate water uptake and loss, and contributes to the plant's ability to resist infection and environmental stress. Additionally, the cell wall is used in industrial processes such as paper manufacturing and biofuel production.
