Erwinia
carotovora Erwinia carotovora is a Gram-negative bacterium with a wide range of uses. Its importance lies in its ability to help with bioremediation, as it has been found to help break down pollutants such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, as well as other environmental contaminants. It is also used for fermentation and for production of various products such as ethanol and cellulosic materials. Furthermore, this bacterium can be used for pest control and is an important factor in the production of food, feed, and pharmaceutical products. Erwinia carotovora is a valuable tool for improving our environment and producing useful products.
