Wildfire Management
Wildfire Management is the mitigation of the risk of wildland fire by utilizing strategies and tactics to reduce the hazardous effects of wildfires. It is an important tool for preserving natural resources, controlling land use, and reducing the risk to lives, property, and surrounding ecosystems. Wildfire Management includes a variety of different strategies and tactics, such as prescribed burning, mechanical thinning, fuel breaks, and prescribed fire suppression. These strategies and tactics help reduce wildfire risk and provide for a safe and effective approach to recreational activities in wildland-urban interface areas.
