Molecular Evolution
Molecular evolution is the study of changes in the genetic material of living organisms over time. It is an important field of research as it helps us to understand how modern organisms evolved from their ancient ancestors. Molecular evolution studies the way in which species adapt to their environment over generations, the role of natural selection in generating changes in the genetic makeup of a species, and the effects of mutations on the development of a species. It also helps us to determine the relationships between species, decipher the evolution of diseases, and provides insights into the evolutionary history of many species. Molecular evolution has applications in a range of fields, including agriculture, ecology, bioinformatics, drug discovery and medical diagnostics.
