Foraging
Foraging is the activity of searching for food or other resources in natural environments. It is practiced by many species of animals, including humans, and is an important part of the food spectrum. Foraging often involves gathering wild plants, fruits, nuts, insects, eggs, and fungi; hunting small animals; and scavenging. Foraging is a critical skill to ensure the survival of humans and other animals, as well as being a way of life for many traditional cultures. Foraging is becoming more popular as an alternative to mass-produced food, since it provides access to nutritious and sustainable sustenance. Moreover, foraging provides an opportunity for people to connect with nature, learn about the environment, and appreciate the abundance of resources in the natural world.
