Ecological Footprint

The ecological footprint is a measure of the human impact on the Earth's environment, revealing how much productive land and water is required to sustain a population's consumption and absorb their waste products. It helps to assess the sustainable use of resources and provide a benchmark to identify ways to reduce environmental impacts and finding pathways to a more sustainable future. Ecological footprint data can be used to inform public and private policy decisions, help national and local governments plan for future environmental and economic changes, and enhance corporate sustainability efforts.
