Commensalism
Commensalism is an ecological relationship between two organisms in which one organism benefits from the other, without causing harm to it. This type of relationship is often seen in the natural world and plays an important role in the health and balance of the environment. It can be beneficial to both species, providing food, shelter, protection, transportation, and other resources that can benefit both species. For example, some species of birds may use the shells of other animals as a nesting material, providing the birds with shelter while not harming the animals they take their shells from. Commensalism also has many uses in human society, such as beneficial relationships between humans and livestock, where the animals provide food and other resources to the people, and the people provide a safe and supportive environment for the animals.
