Chloroplasts
Chloroplasts are organelles found within plant cells which are responsible for photosynthesis. They contain pigments that absorb sunlight and use it for energy conversion. This energy is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into energy-storing carbohydrates such as sugars. As a result, chloroplasts play an essential role in providing food for both plants and animals. In addition, they also produce oxygen and serve as a major source of oxygen for all life on Earth. Chloroplasts are essential for sustaining life as we know it.
