Physical Chemistry
Physical chemistry is the branch of chemistry that deals with the quantitative relationships between matter and energy. It aims to understand and describe the behavior of matter at the atomic and molecular level, and to explain the physical meaning of chemical processes in terms of energy and force. Physical chemistry applies the principles of physics and mathematics to the study of chemical systems, and is used to develop theories, models, and methods that explain and predict the observed physical and chemical behavior of those systems. It is used to discover the mechanisms of chemical reactions, develop new materials, and design efficient and economical production processes. It is also used to understand the behavior of complex biological systems such as living cells.
