Photochemistry
Photochemistry is the study of chemical reactions and interactions that occur in the presence of light. It is a branch of chemistry that is used to understand the nature of light-induced chemical reactions, particularly in solar energy conversion, photobiology, and polymer chemistry. Photochemistry is used to create new energy-efficient materials, to design new drugs and pharmaceuticals, to develop innovative photomedicinal treatments, and to study the effects of light on various types of materials. Photochemistry is essential for making the most of the available solar energy and for developing new kinds of optoelectronic devices.
