Food Intolerances

Food intolerances are a reaction to certain foods that can cause adverse effects such as abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, and fatigue. They are different from food allergies in that the onset of symptoms may not be immediate, and can occur days after eating the offending food. Managing food intolerances involves identifying and avoiding the troublesome food, as well as taking steps to manage other symptoms. Knowing what foods to avoid can help to improve digestion and overall health. Being aware of food intolerances is an important step towards a healthy lifestyle.
