Midwifery
Midwifery is the practice of providing skilled and compassionate care before, during, and after birth. It combines evidence-based medicine with an understanding of the physical, psychological and social needs of a mother and baby. Midwives are the primary care providers for pregnant women, providing care for mother and baby throughout pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum. They also provide specialized care for high-risk pregnancies, helping to ensure a safe and healthy experience for mother and baby. Midwifery is a vital part of women's health care and is an integral part of the health care system. Midwives play an important role in providing quality and individualized care, improving birth and postpartum outcomes, and reducing maternal and infant mortality.
