It is caused by the pinworm parasite, which is a small, white worm that lives in the intestines and colon. Symptoms of threadworm infection can include itching around the anus, disturbed sleep, and abdominal discomfort. Threadworm infection is generally easy to treat with medications, which are available over-the-counter or by prescription. It is important to be aware of threadworm infection and take steps to prevent and treat it, as it can cause serious health complications in some cases.
